Kendal and Oxenholme

Community Loan Share Project

KCLT aims to offer a community loan share scheme via a facilitator such as Ethex. The aim is to raise capital in order to purchase property on the open market, renovate it to a high standard with community housing fund grant money and ideally, have the community support the renovation, DIY SOS style. We would then secure a managing agent and lettings policy. We would aim to let the properties at affordable or social rent levels.

The capacity for this is currently being explored by David Beuzeval, ION Charity Consultant, and his research has been part funded by the CHF (£2500 allocated).
